Four strangers met on Monday, not knowing yet that they shared a common quest. Through the course of their journey, they learned to trust each other and call each other “friend.” As their guide, I led them through the strange land known as Imagine-Nation, where anything was possible. We met with former presidents, actresses, and geniuses, who helped us look at our own selves in new and meaningful ways. We danced through medieval villages with French Belles. Shaolin monks rescued us from the blade of a ninja. Legendary sports stars taught us to play ball. We witnessed two rejected marriage proposals. And a pirate captain sailed us back home. Although this portrait class has ended, we proudly reflect upon our accomplishments. We look forward to our many adventures to come.
This group ranged in age from 8 to 14. Regardless of their ability levels upon entering, each was able to expand upon their artistic understanding. With hard work and dedication (and of course a healthy dose of fun and imagination), anyone can learn to draw! In this class, we focused on facial proportions, proportions of the human figure, shading, and imagination.
